The Argentine State Board of Revenue is responsible for overseeing the collection and strict monitoring of all provincial public income. This includes managing the collection of various fiscal taxes, such as the stamp tax, ensuring compliance and maximizing provincial revenue.
The Stamp Tax
Levied by provincial governments, this tax applies to certain documented legal and commercial transactions. It’s collected via withholding agents and represents 4% of total income and 10% of locally generated income, with a 24% YoY increase in recent years.

The stamp tax collection process depended on an outdated Win32 desktop application used by withholding agents to calculate, file, and remit payments. This legacy system presented several critical challenges that made the process slow, error-prone, and difficult to scale: ç
Outdated Technology: The system was incompatible with modern operating systems like Windows 10 and 11 and lacked portability for remote or flexible work.
Manual Complexity: Agents had to calculate biweekly payments, deposit funds, and submit affidavits manually—introducing room for error and inefficiency.
Lack of Integration: The application couldn’t interface with modern platforms, requiring constant human intervention to bridge systems.
Performance Bottlenecks: Processing large files—sometimes 70MB with over 500,000 records—could take 4+ hours, creating delays for the 360 agents filing taxes simultaneously.

Powerful Tech Stack
We built a scalable, cloud-native solution using Angular, Java with Spring Boot, and Oracle DB. Deployed with Docker and Kubernetes on AWS, and integrated with services like S3 and SQS, the system now processes high-volume tax files quickly and securely within existing infrastructure.
