From carefully curated icebreaker activities to insightful peer circles, every moment of the retreat fostered learning, collaboration, and reflection. So, if you’re feeling FOMO (and we get it), here’s an inside look at the experience that has everyone talking.
The journey began with attendees arriving at Miraval Resort, where mindfulness isn’t just a concept—it’s a way of life. This was evident from the moment you were handed a “cellphone bed”—an invitation to disconnect from the digital world and embrace meaningful interactions.
During the afternoon, attendees immersed themselves in the “Splendor of Sound” or the “Art of Letting Go”, two activities that paved the way for relaxation and introspection.
After welcome cocktails by the Discovery Pool, Manish Vora, co-CEO of the Museum of Ice Cream, led an interactive icebreaker session. Designed to strip away the labels and roles that define our daily professional lives, the session invited attendees to set aside their "masks" and embrace their authentic selves. As one participant puts it:
"Entrepreneurs, sponsors, and investors became, for a moment, tigers, lions, and elephants—defined not by our titles but by our shared humanity."
The session included exercises showcasing the diversity of attendees, including mapping where they traveled from and intimate pair discussions about personal inspirations. A reflective segment invited participants to revisit the decisions and people that shaped their journeys, fostering appreciation for shared and unique experiences.
Blending fun and depth, these activities set the tone for personal and professional growth.
The retreat’s second day was filled with learning and connection, blending structured sessions with free-flowing discussions.
The morning opened with a powerful keynote from Anton Borzov of STRATMINDS, interviewed by Joanna Harries from Endeavor Global. Drawing on his extensive experience, Borzov shared strategies for scaling businesses and reflected on his role in driving WhatsApp's growth. He delved into the challenges faced, from technological hurdles to building and managing effective teams, offering valuable insights into navigating complex growth trajectories.
Peer Circles, moderated by Endeavor managing directors (MDs), were the heart of the day, as attendees split into small groups to share experiences, challenges, and insights, and learn from one another in a confidential and supportive environment.
The session was both emotional and inspiring, as participants shared vulnerable moments, offering insights that were both universal and personal. The natural setting and skilled moderation by the MDs amplified the experience, making it a standout activity. Peer circles, an original Endeavor initiative, facilitated not only profound emotional connections but also helpful problem-solving ideas.
In the words of one participant:
"Hearing others’ stories of overcoming challenges and sharing vulnerabilities created a space of trust, where laughter and tears helped us all grow.”
The afternoon sessions offered key insights for entrepreneurs. A Fireside Chat with Greg Keller of JumpCloud and Louis-Philippe Maurice of Busbud discussed global M&A strategies, focusing on risk and growth during expansion. Later, a panel on conflict resolution led by legal experts Evan Glassman, Michael Scavelli, and Nicholas Palatucci provided practical frameworks for managing disputes among
The retreat’s combination of networking and well-being activities created a balanced environment that encouraged leaving daily concerns behind and focusing on the bigger picture. Between panels, attendees could recharge through yoga, massages, or walks amidst the tranquil setting.
One group participated in the Blue Heron Challenge Course, an outdoor team-building activity focused on collaboration and trust. Others opted for the Bubbles & Bites session in the resort’s Life in Balance Kitchen, where attendees bonded over shared culinary experiences.
This balance between action and reflection was integral to the retreat’s success, as it allowed attendees to step back, reset, and find clarity.
The second day concluded with a memorable private dinner in the enchanting Sensory Garden. The highlight of the night was a captivating closing keynote by Dean Banks, CEO of Indigo Ag, who was interviewed by Canem Arkan, MD of Endeavor Heartland. Banks shared profound insights from his career, reflecting on the intersection of technology, leadership, and sustainable innovation—a fitting end to a day filled with connection and growth.
The retreat’s final day was as reflective as it was forward-looking.
Amy Jo Martin, CEO and Founder of Renegade Global, closed the retreat with her keynote, "The Renegade Way." She challenged participants to embrace bold thinking and redefine how they approached challenges in their personal and professional lives.
After a guided manifestation meditation as the retreat came to an end, there was a palpable sense of unity, renewed focus, and motivation.
The 2024 Endeavor U.S. Retreat wasn’t just a series of activities; it was an experience designed to foster meaningful relationships and actionable insights. It was an opportunity to grow as a leader, connect with a supportive community, and take back ideas that can transform your business.
The diversity of the group was a recurring highlight. Entrepreneurs from different industries, backgrounds, and countries came together to share their unique perspectives. One attendee noted, “It’s incredible to realize that, despite our different contexts, we share so many of the same challenges and aspirations.”
From the personal bonds formed during icebreakers to the clarity gained in peer circles, participants gained a stronger network and a deeper understanding of their entrepreneurial journeys.
Through this chronicle, we aimed to transport you into the heart of the unique experience Endeavor curates: a true celebration of collaboration, vision, and the human connections that drive innovation.
